With an official startup date on Flag Day 2012, XOXOart & Co. set up as a wholesale company at the Dallas Apparel Market in a 10 x 10 booth with ten t-shirts and a few pairs of earrings. Seven years later, they continue to sell their designs in the newly renovated showroom on the 14th floor in The Territory at the Dallas Market Center. Today, they have over 400 t-shirt designs, 200 pieces of jewelry and more.
Inspired by the Spirit of the West, American folklore and Mexican craftsmanship, each design created starts as a piece of artwork on paper.
They create art for the love of it, using a blank tee or leather as a canvas. The art is hand-painted before it is direct-to-garment printed on the tee or leather. Each piece of artwork is created with multiple layers of watercolor, prismacolor pencil and marker to create rich colors and gradations. The jewelry is hand-drawn, hand-beaded and finished with our signature XOXO charm. Everything that they do – from T-shirts and Jewelry to Cap Patches, Pillows, Tea Towels and Belt Buckles – is distinctively designed to create a story.
The three partners that make up this company are each former teachers having retired with thirty or more years in the field of education. Kim Neuendorff is the artist and designer for the company. With an MFA in Graphic Design, specializing in Illustration from The University of Houston, she spent the greater part of her teaching career as an AP high school art teacher in Sugar Land. Her sister, Susan Walton, the CFO of the company, holds a Master’s Degree from The University of Houston. Susan was a former teacher and principal in Houston’s private sector. Their great friend and optimistic enabler, Ronda Von Minden-Nietsche, also a former high school art teacher in La Grange, Texas, creates all of the beading and jewelry designs for the company. Ronda also takes on the role of master organizer. As they add new stores to the XOXO family in each market, our greatest blessing is that our first customers are still our biggest fans. XOXO art & Co. truly care about each and every one of the stores and people they sell to. Even some of their newest customers feel like old friends.
Hip, Chic Boutique was one of their first customers and we still enjoy working with Kim and XOXO art & Co. Congratulations on continued success!
